Have you woven your first new year pin-loom weavie yet? It may serve as a starting point to your “spend more creative time and spend it wisely” resolution for the New Year 2025.
So that you can keep such a New Year resolution, how about a “no-stress 2025 patchwork project”!
What’s a “No-Stress 2025 Patchwork Project”?
Here are a few “rules” …
- Just start to weave … no need to decide what your project will be.
- Any loom(s), any yarn(s) are fine.
- When you feel like it, weave a piece or more and put them together (but even the putting-together-right-away is optional).
- I recommend that you store your progress in a project bag or place for easy access.
At the end of the year you will have “something” … this may be just the one piece that you’re going to make today, and if that’s all you got then you can call it your 2025 coaster project and be proud of your accomplishment.
If you have a few pieces or pieces of different shapes, attach them to a premade blanket, and there is your patchwork blanket.
If you have many pieces in a plethora of colors and yarns … put them together into a blanket, a shawl, a ruana, a pillow, a table runner …
In short, anything goes, as long as you are enjoying it and are doing it without being stressed. You can only fail this resolution if you don’t start it!

I made two sample starter pieces, a Zoom loom square and an Original TURTLE R hexagon, using Paintbox Simply Aran (209 Soft Fudge) which comes close to the new Pantone color of the year 2025 Mocha Mousse. But remember, your starter piece can be ANYTHING pin-loom woven.
I decorated my square and hexagon with an embroidered year number, but it is perfectly ok to keep yours blank (or sew on a charm) and put your work into a zip-lock bag labeled “2025 no-stress patchwork project”.

Share your progress on social media and see what others are up to. I recommend using hashtag #NoStressPinLoomWeaving2025.
If “no-stress” and “patchwork” are not your thing, I will share a couple of more ideas over the next few days for alternative projects that will carry you through the year, so watch out for those posts.
Let’s add a little bit fun with a TINY GIVEAWAY!
We have winners! Congratulations to Joan Washburn, Linda, Linda Thompson, Connie Nichol, and Amelie. The winners have been notified via email.
I got these 2025 charms for crafting projects. I won’t need them all, so I decided to share some of them with you to decorate your 2025 project. I will send the winners one charm attached to a greeting card, which means that anyone who can receive a greeting card via USPS Postal Service can participate. I will give away 5 charms, either gold or silver colored, your choice. All you need to do is leave a comment below this post, mentioning your preference, “gold” or “silver”, by the end of Saturday, January 4th (midnight CST). If there are more comments than charms, Mr. Random will help to decide the winners. I will update this blog on Sunday morning with the winning names.

This is a perfect project for the year – thank you for the inspiration! I just organized all of my pin looms (including several turtle looms 😀) along with my yarns, so I’m ready to start.
And, a silver charm would be lovely if I’m one of the lucky ones!
What a fun project! Thanks for the inspiration! I’d love a silver 2025 charm!
This sounds like fun👍
Silver
Happy New Year, my first project this year will be a small purse made from Herdwick fleece that I am spinning!
Silver please. Thank you
What a lovely way to start 2025. My biggest issue is always getting started and your post was very helpful in getting past that obstacle. I would love a silver charm
This is great! I’m thinking of making a hexagon with the same yarn I use for each crochet project I do for charity.
I like that idea and will be looking forward to seeing it.
Similarily, I am thinking of adding the pieces that I weave when I test new yarn.
As i weave my way into my Golden years, Hair turns slowly silver and stress is getting less preferable the gold
I like the gold charm. Count me in for the2025 No Stress Weave along. Happy New Year!
Slow stitching, slowing down, and enjoying the progress is my resolution for this year. A silver charm will remind me of this resolution throughout the year. Happy New Year to Everyone.
I’m not partial—gold or silver is fine
We must’ve been on the same wavelength. Yesterday I started some hexagons and returned to zoom Loom project that had been dormant. My only problem with Turtle Looms is that I don’t have all of them’
Lol about the “My only problem with Turtle Looms is that I don’t have all of them” … I feel the same way (yeah, right, says the maker) … but then: We can make the greatest projects with just one loom!
I love this! Being a little superstitious, whatever you do on January 1 you’ll do the rest of the year. I’m going to weave today! I like silver.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for the offer. I would be happy with either one.
Silver
great idea. either one would be fine for me too.
Silver!
Oh how fun! I just got my pin loom for Christmas 🎄 and would love either gold or silver-I’m not picky! ❤️
SILVER. Luv my hexi looms.
Either color works for me! Thanks!
I would love a Gold 2025 charm.
This sounds like fun! I’m in! And a 2025 charm would be fun!
Love the idea, would like a silver charm please.
I’m so excited for this! I got a zoom loom for Christmas and getting to fine sett turtle brand looms as well so this will be great for me to work on and try out new colors. Charm wise I think silver
I love the idea of a weavie to start the New Year. But I didn’t have any looms with me. So I prepared the warp for an inkle band for my robe. It’s ready for the loom and weaving. If I’m chosen for a charm I prefer silver. No matter what ‘Happy Weaving to all’ and then a good night!!
This project works for me! We are in the process of moving and I have uncovered pin loom squares in the most unlikely places. I already have a few to start my patchwork project. And either silver or gold works for me! Thank you for the inspiration and fun!
This will be a fun project I am excited to see what all the creative weavers make. Thanks Gabi. Silver would be great.
