Crafting My Chaos will be bringing a new color-run called “Christmas Time” to the Yarnivore on Texas Yarn Crawl opening day. And we will bring the new TURTLE Loom™ “fine sett”. Here’s a project idea to help you try them out right away.
The instructions are so easy that we decided to put them right here onto the blog.
Materials:
– The new TURTLE Loom™ “fine sett”
– The new Crafting My Chaos “Christmas Time” or any other fingering/sock yarn (16 yards make one angel skirt)
– Cascade Heritage in color 5682 White (16 yards make one head and the wings)
– A tiny bit stuffing for the head
– Scissors, tapestry needle
Weave:
(2) 4″ hexagons in “Christmas Time”
(2) 4″ hexagons in white
Assembly:
For the head, sew a thread along all sides of one white hexagon and pull in half way. Gently stuff and close completely.
For the skirt, match the two skirt hexagons together, then sew the sides as indicated. Pull a thread through the top as indicated and pull to close the opening.
For the wings, weave in the ending tail. Then hold the opposite tip to the starting tail as shown and pull the starting tail in to ruffle the hexagon into wing shape. Secure the thread.
Finish:
Sew the wings to the upper back. Sew a hanger through the head (I suggest to sew through the head completely so that the hanger doesn’t pull the head out of shape). Weave in remaining ends.
Tip: Consider using other colors for the skirt, for example beautiful autumn colors for a harvest angel. Or make a few pocket angels (without the hanger) in cheerful colors to give to people who are in distress, to let them know that you are thinking of them.
Come and get your supplies at the Yarnivore on October 5th, 2018!
