Grape Pillow … and a Giveaway

Recently, several people have asked if they can make “hexipuff” projects with woven hexagons, and the answer is: Absolutely YES!

From a single hexagon design like this Puff Pet™ Ladybug to a design with more hexagons, like the Flower Power Emoji Meter, all you really need to do is:

  • Weave twice the amount of hexagons as for a flat design
  • Make two, mirrored layers of the design
  • Sew them together
  • Stuff
  • Quilt tie where the hexagon corners meet

… and enjoy your puffed, woven hexagon project.

For example … take the Grape Table Topper from the new Interweave “Little Looms” magazine

Apply the steps above, and you’ll get a very decorative, squishy pillow!

That’s just one way to do it. You could also make a bunch of single “puffs” and then tie/sew them together.

If you want to try the Grape Pillow but don’t yet have the magazine, we are giving away ONE PRINT COPY of the new “Easy Weaving with Little Looms Summer 2018” magazine. Here is how it works:

  1. I’d be interested in small pouches or jewelry patterns as that is what most of my small weaving bouts tend to lead to as I’m too ADHD to get into large projects unless they have a lot of different techniques involved.

  2. Not an entry as I have the mag already.
    First, that ladybug, squeeeee!
Second, some kind of Christmas symbolism like a tree, stars, elongated star, tree topper….

  3. Lovely! I’m interested in usable household items – towels, pillows, etc.

  4. I can’t wait to get one of these. I think the smallest one would be fun to try for a little mini blanket.

  5. Don’t know it it’s even possible but would love to see patterns that use both the original size hexagons and the larger ones that are made on the TexaTurtle loom together.
